Lata Mangeshkar just can do almost anything impossible with her voice it seems as she is now lending her voice for an 8 year old girl. The film is called ‘Satrangee Parachute’ and is a debut film of Vineet Khetrapal. The 24 year old filmmaker is also the producer of the movie and it is a children’s film and he seems to have achieved quite a feat with the debut film.
Talking about convincing Nightingale of India to sing for an 8 year old girl was a challenge. But once Lataji agreed to do it, she took it as a challenge herself and according to Vineet she sounds just like an 8 year old girl in the song “Tere Hasne Pe Mujhe hasi Aati Hai”. Also the director-producer of the movie was moved by the dedication of the legendary singer as she went to the studio thrice for the recording of the song.
Describing singer Lata Mangeshkar as a ‘Vishwa Ratna’, Maharashtra Governor K. Sankaranarayanan has said her soulful music transcends geographical and linguistic boundaries.
‘There is hardly any Indian language in which Lata Mangeshkar has not sung. Her music is as popular in Pakistan, Bangladesh and other countries as in India. She is the icon of at least three generations,’ the governor said.
Sankaranarayanan was speaking after conferring the ‘Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati National Eminence Award’ on Lata Mangeshkar, 80, for her lifetime services to music at a glittering ceremony held in Shanmukhananda Hall in Mumbai Saturday night.
The award, instituted by the South Indian Education Society was also presented to Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and scientist Professor Arvind Gupta in the presence of Swami Shankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham Jayendra Saraswati.
